I've only recently discover audiobooks. A road trip came up when I started the current must read. The two and half hour drive flew by as the plot unfolded.
A successful audiobook is tricky. Not only does the story need to be compelling, dialogue engaging and characters likable, but the narrator has to preform the story. For the most part I still prefer to read the book. But, here are a few of my favorite audiobooks.
WRITTEN BY KRISTEN ASHLEY
NARRATED BY SAVANNAH RICHARDS
I absolutely loved this audiobook. Ashley pushed the alpha male character as far as she ever dared with Knight Sebring. Richards' delivery is as dark and sexy as the story. As one of my favorites I have listened to this audiobook more than once.
WRITTEN BY CHRISTINA LAUREN
NARRATED BY GRACE GRAND & JONATHAN R. COLE
This was my first exposure to the writing style of Christina Lauren. They have a knack for alluring intimate scenes and brilliant comedic timing. Pair that with Cole's accent (I'm the cliche American and that means I'm a sucker for an accent) and you have just over eight hours of tantalizing entertainment. Now if only I could get him to call me petal.
THE REAL SERIES: REAL/MINE/REMY
WRITTEN BY KATY EVANS
NARRATED BY CHARLOTTE PENFIELD & SEBASTIAN YORK
Katy Evans has created a gripping cast of characters. Penfield's performance draws the audience into the drama and angst of underground street fights. And don't get me started on her sensual voice. This is one of my favorite stories, favorite book boyfriends and favorite audiobook.
