REVIEW: Tommy Boy

Tommy Boy by Sloane Howell

by Sloane Howell

Tommy is your typical college student. It is just ask likely that he can be found drinking as studying. CC is not your typical coed. She’s a fan of Star Wars and all the best retro video games, basically she’s the perfect woman. As it goes with young love, the two connect pretty quickly and catch themselves fighting the urge to get too serious too fast.

Tommy Boy is a hilarious and sexy story. Howell has such a fun and engaging style reading his work is always a great time. This book took me by surprise. I was not expecting the depth of emotion. I find that this one haunts me in the best possible way.

Whether you’ve read The Panty Whisper or not, whether you’ve read Howell or not you should most defiantly spend the night with Tommy Boy.

Aracely’s Book Review:

I enjoy finding male authors who can really pull off the romance genre. For the most part I was fully invested in these character and then the story took a turn I didn't see coming. It was a total surprise but it was such a powerful message that I understood (it took me a while) why Howell took the story this way. This is a prequel to The Panty Whisper series so what these character went through is going to affect them in The Panty Whisper. I am still processing the effects that Tommy Boy left on me. It might take a while to go back to these characters, but rest assure that I will. I want to see how the events in Tommy Boy changed the path of these character and the type of men they became.

Even though at first I was not happy with the way Tommy Boy turned out this will not be the last book I will read by Sloane Howell. Don’t let this review sway you not to read Tommy Boy. If anything Tommy Boy will open your eyes and make you stop to think. Most likely though it will  make you want to hug your mom. (Because that’s what I did.)

Kristen's Book Review:

Right off the bat, I'm loving this novella's throwback. From, Nsync to AOL Buddy List, it had me reminiscing and giving me warm fuzzies of my teen years.

Keeping true to this series, Sloane gives us his funny and sexy side in hot and heavy petting sessions, before we see this couple connect on every level.

As life and books do, we get thrown a curve ball. And while it makes the reader gasp and shake. It leaves a message we can all take with us everyday.

Leave it to Sloane Howell to give us all the feels.

Why did we choose this book:

I read Tommy Boy back when it was released. It instantly made it into my list of favorite reads. Whenever anyone wants book recommendations from me I tell them to read Tommy Boy and report back to me. I’ll know everything I need to know about them from their response to this book.

When Aracely joined the blog, I asked her to read the book. I knew that we had similar taste in books, and the devil in me wanted the opportunity to experience reading Tommy Boy for the first time again through her. It’s a guilty pleasure, but I also had to know what my blogging buddy would do.
