Review: The Other Brother

The Other Brother by Meghan Quinn

By Meghan Quinn

This is a standalone book in a series with interconnected characters.

I got the call. The dreaded call every child fears. My dad wasn’t well, and the man who had always been my everything needed me.

There was only one thing to do; pack up and head back to my hometown. I had finally made my dream life in the city with the great job and loving boyfriend. But was there really a choice not to go?

I found a wonderful job, a quaint house to rent, my boyfriend was working on joining me in Binghamton, and my favorite pizza place was only miles away. Life was good.

Until I met my neighbor.

It's been three years since I'd seen Aaron Walters, and my God is he all kinds of sexy gorgeous. Figures. He was supposed to be my forever, the man I grew old with, but he had different plans. How can a man who ripped my heart apart still trip me up? How can he make me still want him now more than ever?

I’m tempted, I’m drawn toward him, I’m completely and utterly unaware that I’m dating his biological brother.

Now two men own my heart. The question is, which brother will I choose?

Aaron Walters has had to work hard his entire life. Growing up with a neglectful mother made him an adult long before it was time. Now he has the life he always wanted. He has his own business with his two closest friends, and home where he can decorate the yard for the holidays.

Amelia Santos just moved back to the sleepy town she grew up in three hours north of New York City. She left her job and her life to moved home to be close to her ailing father. She has a lot on her plate with a new job, taking care of her dad, and the stress of a long distance relationship.

When Amelia moves back home she quickly realizes her neighbor is none other than her highschool sweetheart. The one she loved fiercely and dropped her quickly and without reason. For Aaron, Amelia will always be the one he let get away. Now she’s back but any chance of reconciliation is thwarted by the fact that she’s dating his brother. Can these two former lovers be amicable neighbors, or is there too much history in the way for this second chance romance?

April’s Review:

The absolute best thing I’ve ever read in my life was the dedication in this book. It breaks my heart and warms it at the same time. If I think about it too much I might cry. I don’t have stairs in my house, but I would get some for the other brother.

I love this story because it is so true to life. Sometimes kids don’t always get the love and attention and respect they deserve. Then those kids grow up and become adults. This is something that happens all too often in real life. I’m so proud of Aaron. He does the best that he can, and when he struggles he reaches for help. This is such an important example for people to see and talk about.

Aracely’s Review:

The Other Brother By Meghan Quinn was a story I didn’t see coming. I’ve read most of Meghan Quinn’s books so I knew what I was getting myself into. But The Other Brother is such a rollercoaster of emotions. You will cry, laugh and swoon.

All through the book I wanted to reach through the book and give Aaron a big hug. Aaron has gone through so much in his life and still has the biggest heart ever. It doesn’t matter that he is unhappy and just getting by in life as long as the one’s he loves are living to the fullest.

Aaron needs someone to put him first, someone to love him for him. Enter Amelia, college student with big dreams and an even bigger love for Aaron. But they are torn apart and years later get thrown back together. There is only so much a man with such a big heart can take until he becomes selfish and starts to think about himself.

The Other Brother will make you think about the choices we make in life  and the things we do for the ones we love. If there is only one Meghan Quinn book you are going to pick up make it The Other Brother.

Kristen’s Review:

I want to hold this book in my heart forever. Meghan Quinn, I'm not crying, you're crying.

A second chance love for main characters Amelia and Aaron, gets pretty confusing when Amelia moves in next door.

Amelia leaves her happy life, her love and shared apartment with boyfriend Trey, when her dad falls ill with dementia back home. When she moves in next door to her lost love, Aaron.
Aaron regrets pushing Amelia away every day now she's back home, boyfriend be damned, he's going for blood... well not really... going for her heart?

This book was pure love, Amelia had so much love around her, her boyfriend and Aaron completed the love triangle. But who does she choose? And what do we think of this Trey guy? Is he too good to be true too or a rat? And what's the link between him and Aaron? You just have to read it!

This emotional story will make you need a hug for your heart and the beautiful dedication at the end ties it all together.

Here's to everyone, who deserves their stairs.

Why did we choose this book:

Meghan Quinn is a favorite author of RAD. We are happy to one-click anything she writes. We also had to know why Aaron the gentle giant was so sad.

Who should read this book:

This is an amazing story about pulling yourself up and overcoming and second changes. This is a book that everyone should read.

About the Author:

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
