REVIEW: Brando Part Two

Brando by JD Hawkins

by J.D. Hawkins

This is the second part to the Brando Story.

Brando Nash is down on his luck and has a bad case of heartsickness. He made a bet that he could take a nobody and make them a star in under a month. What’s at stake? His ex-girlfriend Lexi’s contract. His bad luck doesn’t come from losing the bet. His bad luck is that he won the bet and the nobody he produced turned out to be Haley, the love of his life. Haley found out about the bet and no longer wants to have anything to do with him. If all that wasn’t bad enough, Brando now has to chaperone Lexi and Haley’s tour.

“These are your two biggest artists, Brando, and they’re about to go on the biggest tour of their careers together! We need this to go smoothly. What are you going to do here in LA? Continue booking gigs and arranging studio time for your other groups? We could get an intern to do that. Your work is on the road.”

I am such a fan of Hawkins work. The minute this book came through on my e-reader I set a date for myself, a glass of wine, and Brando Part Two. I forgot all about the wine, but I didn’t get up until the story was over. I didn’t just read this book I devoured it!

One of the things that I really enjoyed about this book was Haley’s growth. In the first book she was very timid and shy. In book two she really comes into her own, and there is even a hint of sass.

I absolutely love Brando. This is Hawkins best showing yet.
