by Dorothy F. Shaw
Sometimes going backward is just what you need to move forward.
Maggie has spent the last several months nursing a broken heart—compliments of Jake. But is she really over him? When Jake shows up out of the blue, saying all the right things, Maggie must decide if she’s going to get back on the same old merry-go-round in hopes that he’s really changed…or find a way to finally heal and move forward.
Product Warning: This book is a love story...a tragic one, but a love story just the same.
Maggie loved Jake and still does. They have an undeniable chemistry, that was never the problem. Leaving Jake wasn't easy, but it was what she had to do. What is she suppose to do now when he shows up saying the things she's always wanted to hear?
Against the Wall is a wonderful sexy short story. It's a refreshingly honest story that will hit a nerve and leave you wanting more. It's a refreshing departure from the saccharin sweet fairytale that over runs the genre. If this author is new to you, this is a great place to start. I can't wait to read more from Shaw.
About the Author:
Dorothy F. Shaw stumbled into a career in Corporate America and has spent the last 20 years climbing the corporate ladder. A fan of journaling about her troubles, she started an online blog in 2009, and poured her emotions out for all to see.
As luck would have it, the first post came out in the form of a poem. A few authors she'd met online encouraged her to write more, and in the span of 2 years she wrote over 150 poems. The poems led to short stories, which blossomed into novels. Evident from the very beginning was her voice as an author that is real and packed with wit and sarcasm. Her stories will always include complex, broken people trying to figure out how to start and keep a relationship as well as lots of hot, steamy sex. As Dorothy sees it, the journey is the best part.
When she's not writing, she's a mother, and a friend to many. She truly lives and loves in technicolor!
